Women's Golf in Fifth Place Following Day One at Cougar Classic

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The UCF women’s golf team kicked off the first round of the 2025-26 season with a ten-under par performance in the first and second rounds of the Cougar Classic hosted by Charleston.
 
The Knights rounded out day one in fifth place, nine strokes behind first-place Tennessee.
 
Molly Smith got off to a strong start, going bogey-free through seven holes to end the first round with a 70 (-1). She cranked up the heat during the second round to card a -2 and end day one tied for 15th place.
 
True freshman Kinga Kusmierska notched a one-over (72) in her first collegiate outing and followed it up with a 68 in the second round.  The Polish native snagged eight birdies on the day and is in 20th place.
 
Tiffany Tsai led the squad following the first round, as she shot two under par (69). In her first appearance, donning the Black and Gold, she was bogey-free through the front nine. The redshirt freshman wrapped up the day in 26th place after carding a 72 in the second round.
 
Pimpisa Sisutham turned in an even-par 71 for the first and second rounds at Yeamans Hall Club. The senior tallied six birdies and rounded out the day in 33rd place.
 
Mila Jurine got off to a rough start with a double bogey but turned things around on the back nine with three birdies between holes 10-14 in the first round. The sophomore jumped 29 spots, as she notched a 68 in the second round and ended the day in 40th place.
 
The Knights are set to wrap up the final round of the Cougar Classic Tuesday, September 9, with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m.
