Women's Golf Primed for Schooner Classic

ORLANDO — For the third time in program history, UCF Women’s Golf will play in the Schooner Classic at Norman, Oklahoma. Hosted by Belmar Golf Club and co-hosted by the University of Oklahoma, the event takes place Sept. 20-22.

 

UCF joins 15 other teams who will take part in the Schooner Fall Classic. Three teams taking part currently rank in the Division 1 Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll. UCF is currently receiving votes with three.

 

The Schooner Fall Classic includes strong teams from top to bottom with the top teams ranked in the Top 25. The teams are #16 Florida State, #22 Oklahoma State, and #25 TCU. This gives the opportunity for the women to go up against strong opponents. All the teams included in the tournament at Arkansas State, Florida State, Georgia, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, TCU, Texas State, Tulane, Tulsa, UCF, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin.

 

The Belmar Golf Club is Par 70, measuring 6,182 yards with 54 holes and 18 played daily. The Belmar has also hosted the Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic Tournament which raised more than $1.4 million for the OK Kids Korral. Live scoring is available on Clippd.

 

UCF’s lineup for this tournament features Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham, Molly Smith, Mila Jurine, Kinga Kusmierska, and Tiffany Tsai.

All three days of the tournament will feature a 9 a.m. shotgun start off of holes one and 10.
