by Lukas Miller

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The UCF men's golf team finished their regular season play right outside the top five  at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate. The Knights ended in sixth place after scoring +17 above par at the UNC Finley Golf Course on Sunday.

Hans Risvaer ended the regular season with a stellar performance. The Miami native finished on par (210) after three rounds of play. Risvaer placed tied for eighth as an individual, out of 80 competitors in the tournament. The sophomores placement was achieved with the help from scoring nine birdies throughout the competition.

Chase Haygood also had himself a solid tournament, placing tied for 12th as an individual. Haygood carded only two above par (212) which aided UCF's team placement as well. The Daytona Beach local finished with a bogey free back four holes. This is the second tournament in a row where the junior has stroked only +2 above par.

Lucas Dutartre finished tied at 35th as an individual after shooting seven over par. The Paris, France, native tallied 10 birdies throughout three rounds which is the fourth time this season scoring double digit birdies in a tournament.

Jakob Stubhaug ranked tied for 50th and punched in 220 (+10) on his score card. Stubhaug had a bogey free back nine during round three. The redshirt junior also checked in a birdie in the back nine to help him finish strong.

Clemente Silva rounded out the Black and Gold, ranked 77th after three rounds. Silva hit +22 above par (232). The junior was only three above on par in the third round, scoring two birdies to jump his overall placement three spots.

UCF will tee-off next on April 22-24 at the Big 12 Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The tournament will be hosted at Southern Hills Country Club and the Knights will compete for the team's first Big 12 title.
