ORLANDO – Following its best performance of the season to win the ECU Intercollegiate earlier this week, the UCF men’s golf team is back in action this weekend at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate. The event will be held at the Magnolia Grove Golf Course in Semmes, Alabama, right outside of Mobile with the University of South Alabama serving as the host.
The three-day event will begin with split tee times the first two days of action (Sunday and Monday) and a shotgun start on the final day of play (Tuesday). The Knights tee off starting at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. CT from hole No. 1 Sunday. The teams will play one round, 18 holes each day.
Fans can follow the action live on Scoreboard powered by Clippd.
UCF will be joined in the 13-team field by Bradley, Delaware, Jacksonville State, Marshall, New Orleans, Nicholls State, Samford, host South Alabama, Stephen F. Austin, Tennessee Tech, Texas State and Valparaiso.
The teams will compete on the Falls Course of Magnolia Grove, which will play as a par 71 at 7,239 yards. Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Magnolia Grove was recently named one of the "Top 50 Public Courses" by Golf World Magazine readers. The Crossings and Falls courses are also listed in Golf Digest's "Places to Play" as two of the nation's Great Value courses and as "America's Top 50 Affordable Courses."
It marks the second consecutive year that UCF has played in the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, after finishing seventh in the event last year with an 868 (+16) team score. Hans Risvaer led the Black and Gold with a three-round of 212 (-1) to tie for seventh.
This year, the Knights’ lineup will consist of Lucas Dutartre, Chase Haygood, Jakob Stavang Stubhaug, Clemente Silva, Risvaer and Gustav Andersson. Dutartre qualified on his own, with a score of -1 during qualifying. The qualifying requirement for this tournament was even par for the three rounds.
The final five spots were coaches' picks determined by all the data points shown below, including each player’s win-loss-tie record for events during the season, in addition to their Collegiate Scoreboard ranking and World Golf Amateur Rankings.
