UCF tallied 45 birdies during the three-round event, nine more than the next closest team as Columbia and East Carolina each had 36. The Knights were at their best on par 4s at +14, while East Carolina ranked second in the category at +38.
Clemente Silva turned in another strong performance to finish in a tie for fifth place on the individual leaderboard with a 217 (+1) to earn a spot on the all-tournament team. He closed out the intercollegiate with a 71 (-1) thanks to three birdies to leap six spots from the end of the second round into the top five.
Tallying his best score of the season, Gustav Andersson tied for 13th with a three-round score of 220 (+4). He carded an even par 72 in the final round headlined by four birdies.
Chase Haygood had an identical score thanks to a 69 in the first round, 75 in the second round and a 76 on Tuesday. He had three birdies on the day and finished the tournament with 11 to lead UCF and tie for the second most in the field.
After claiming the individual title last year, Hans Risvaer was in the mix again this season and finished 16th with a 221 (+5). He was two under in the first round before firing a 73 in the second round and a 78 in the third.
Lucas Dutartre rounded out the lineup for the Knights, checking in 19th on the leaderboard with a six-over-par 222. He closed out the intercollegiate with his best round of the event at one over (73). Dutartre had a bogey-free front nine and was one over on the back nine with two birdies.
Competing as an individual, Jakob Stavang Stubhaug was stellar for UCF to finish tied for 16th with a 221 (+5). He shot a 74 in the first and third rounds and a 73 in the second round. Stubhaug had four birdies Tuesday to offset a few bogeys and finish two over.
Each of UCF’s golfers competing in the event finished among the top 20.
The Knights are back in action at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate in Mobile, Alabama, next weekend. The Magnolia Grove Golf Club will host the event Sunday, March 23 and Monday, March 24.
