ORLANDO – The UCF men’s golf team will head to Greenville, North Carolina, this week to compete in the ECU Intercollegiate, where the Knights recorded their best finish of the season last year. Hosted by East Carolina, the tournament will take place Monday, March 17, through Tuesday, March 18, at Brook Valley Country Club.
This marks the Black and Gold’s second appearance at the ECU Intercollegiate. Last year, the Knights delivered an outstanding performance, finishing in second place (+17) just two strokes short of East Carolina (+15). Hans Risvaer secured his first collegiate individual title, shooting 213 (-3) to dominate the field. Risvaer was one of two players to finish the tournament under par.
The Knights will compete against Barton, Bellarmine, Columbia, Dartmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Gardner-Webb, IU Indianapolis, Morehead State, Oakland, Old Dominion, Queens University of Charlotte, Temple, UConn, West Georgia and the host ECU Pirates in the field.
Brook Valley Country Club was designed by architect Ellis Maples. This challenging par-72 course stretches 6,803. This course has hosted PGA legends like Sam Snead and Ben Hogan.
The Knights will tee off at 8:45 a.m. in a shotgun start. Fans can follow the action live on Clippd Scoreboard. The teams play 36 holes Monday and the final 18 of the 54-hole event on Tuesday.
UCF’s lineup will consist of Lucas Dutartre, Chase Haygood, Jakob Stavang Stubhaug, Clemente Silva, Hans Risvaer and Gustav Andersson. Dutartre qualified on his own, with a score of -1 during qualifying. The qualifying requirement for this tournament was even par for the three rounds.
The final five spots were coaches' picks determined by all the data points shown below, including each player’s win-loss-tie record for events during the season, in addition to their Collegiate Scoreboard ranking and World Golf Amateur Rankings.
