ORLANDO - The UCF women’s tennis head coach has announced the signing of Belgium junior Lauren Seye, an exciting player who will join the Knights in the fall of 2025 and bolster the program’s Big 12 ambitions.
Hailing from Drongen in the northwestern region of Belgium, Seye has had a promising junior career playing in ITF tournaments across Europe. In August, she advanced to the quarterfinals at the J200 Novi Sad, defeating American Sophia Sanders and Serbia’s Masa Tanaskovic.
One of her strongest performances this calendar year came at the J200 Castricum, where she advanced to the semifinals in dominating fashion, dropping just one set in four triumphs.
In 2023, Seye fell in the finals at the J100 Liepaja after triumphing over multiple top European juniors. The Belgian also excels in doubles, as alongside Latvian native Beatrise Zeltina, the tandem took home the crown at the J100 Neaunkirchen, besting multiple duos in straight sets en route to a three-set triumph over Germans Philippa Faerber and Hannah Resch.
