ORLANDO – The UCF men’s golf team heads to Houston, Texas, this weekend to compete in the Big 12 Match Play. The tournament will be held Monday, October 7 through Wednesday, October 9, at The Clubs at Houston Oaks.
The Knights will compete across three days in match play format. Each team match will consist of five individual matches. An individual match win awards that team with one point. Any individual match that remains tied after 18 holes awards each team with a half point. Once all individual matches are completed within a team match, the team with the greater point total will receive three points while the losing team receives zero points. If the match is tied at the end of all five individual matches, both teams receive one point.The final round will take place on Wednesday morning to declare a champion.
UCF will take on Oklahoma State in the first round Monday morning and Kansas in the afternoon. Tuesday the Knights will face Kansas State in the morning, before beginning the final round Wednesday.
The prestigious Houston Oaks golf course is an 18-hole, par 71 course that extends over 7,000 yards. Houston Oaks, designed by Chet Willaims, was established in 2006 and highlights top tier facilities, as well as breathtaking visuals surrounding the course.
UCF’s lineup will feature Chase Haygood, Lucas Dutartre, Hans Risvaer, Marc Keller, Clemente Silva and Jakob Stavang Stubhaug.
