ORLANDO - UCF's men's golf team will open its 2024-2025 season at the Island Resort Intercollegiate this weekend. Hosted by South Dakota State, the tournament will take place Sept. 1-2 at the Sage Run Golf Club in Harris, Michigan.
This year, UCF will face off against Georgia, Northern Illinois, Michigan, Boise State, North Texas, Purdue, Illinois State, Miami (OH), St. Mary's, and the host South Dakota State. Michigan took home the 2023 title with a final score of 834 (-30).
The tournament will consist of its usual 54 holes and three rounds. Thirty-six holes will be played on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday. The Knights will tee off at 8:30 a.m. ET each day on holes No. 1 and No. 10.
The Sage Run Golf Club measures 7,309 yards and will give the Knights their first test after a very productive offseason. Live scoring is available through SpikeMark and can be accessed by clicking here.
UCF is looking to continue getting stronger after an exciting season. Last year, the Knights played in their first-ever Big 12 Championship.
The Black and Gold welcome four new players to the squad for the 2024-25 season.
UCF's first lineup of the year will feature two returners Hans Risvaer and Jakob Stavang Stubhaug, along with three newcomers. Freshman Palmer Haynes had the best qualifying score and will be the top player in the lineup, while Stubhaug will play at No. 2 followed by transfer Lucas Dutartre, Risvaer and Felix Schrott.
