Men's Soccer Rises to No. 2 National Ranking

ORLANDO – The UCF men’s soccer team’s meteoric rise through the national team rankings this fall continues to reach new heights for the program in its debut season in the Sun Belt Conference.

After spending the last two weeks as the third-ranked team in the United Soccer Coaches poll, the Knights (5-1-2, 1-1-1 SBC) have again climbed one spot to the No. 2 team in the nation in the organization’s week six rankings released Tuesday afternoon following the first Sun Belt Conference win in program history at Kentucky Friday evening.

The team’s No. 2 national ranking represents the highest of any athletics program in school history, after the group shared the honor with the women’s track & field squad at No. 3 the last two weeks.

After debuting at No. 2 in the nation in the first official NCAA RPI rankings last Monday, UCF remains at No. 2 in the RPI’s official week two as well, boasting at least one point in four of its five matches against RPI top 100 teams thus far.

The Knights also climbed to No. 2 in the nation in Top Drawer Soccer’s week six poll and remained at No. 7 in College Soccer News’ latest rankings, both released Monday.
