Men’s Golf Completes Day One at Island Resort Intercollegiate

HARRIS, Mich. – The UCF men’s golf team opened the 2023-24 season at the Island Resort Intercollegiate on Sunday, as the Knights fired an even par 576 following the first two rounds of play held at the Sage Run Golf Club.

UCF was one under (287) in the first round and one over (289) in the second round to sit even par at the conclusion of day one.

Making his Knights debut, freshman Hans Risvaer owns UCF’s best score of the day at four under (140), firing an even par 72 in his first round as a collegiate golfer and a 68 (-4) in his second round. Gustav Andersson, a transfer from Texas Tech, shot a 71 (-1) in the opening round of the tournament and a 70 (-2) in the afternoon round to conclude the day with a 141 to tie for 18th on the individual leaderboard.

Another highly touted freshman Cy Norman had a great first showing with the UCF logo on his polo, carding a 71 (-1) in both rounds to end the day with a 142. Garret Ebbert, a freshman from nearby Lake Mary, Florida, started his Knights golf career on a positive note with 145 (+1) thanks to a 71 in the first round and a 74 in the second round. Egor Eroshenko tallied the same score, recording an even par through the first 18 holes and a 73 (+1) on the second round.

Marc Keller notched a 148 (+4) after carding a 74 (+2) in both rounds, while Jakob Stubhaug shot a 72 (E) and a 78 (+6) and Nicholas Estrada fired a 77 (+5) and a 74 (+2).

UCF returns to action for the final round of the Island Resort Intercollegiate on Monday at 7:40 a.m.
