Former UCF long snapper Alex Ward will participate in the Reese's Senior Bowl college football all-star game Saturday (Feb. 4) in Mobile, Alabama.
The game will kick off at 1:30 p.m. CT (2:30 p.m. ET) at the University of South Alabama's Hancock Whitney Stadium and will be televised by NFL Network. It's the longest continual-running all-star game, having taken place in Mobile for 73 years.
Forty-five of the top 100 players selected in the 2022 NFL Draft played in the Senior Bowl—and the 2022 game produced 106 picks overall.
Ward (Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach, Florida) is a two-time finalist for the Patrick Mannelly Award as the top long snapper in college football. He was a second-team All-American (Phil Steele) in that role in 2022 and a third-team selection in 2021. Ward began as a freshman long snapper at UCF in the 2017 season.
Ward was a 2022 semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy from the National Football Foundation. He was a five-time selection to the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team and was named to the 2022 UCF Order of Pegasus as one of the University's 26 most exemplary students.
Ward graduated in 2021 with a degree in mechanical engineering and has pursued a second degree in integrated business.
The most recent UCF representatives in the Senior Bowl are Richie Grant and Aaron Robinson in 2021, Jordan Akins, Tre'Quan Smith and Shaquem Griffin in 2018--and Clayton Geathers, Rannell Hall and Terrance Plummer in 2015.
