ORLANDO - The No. 23 UCF volleyball team will face off against Tulane on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at The Venue to kickoff the last homestand of the season for the Knights. The matchup will begin at 5 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Knights return home after sweeping both ECU and Temple in their final roadtrip of the season, improving their 2022 season record to 25-1 and their conference play record to 17-1.
McKenna Melville continued to dominate, winning her fourth-straight AAC Offensive Player of the Week honor on Monday, the eighth time she has won the award this season. She is currently 23 kills away from reaching 2,500 career kills and three digs away from 1,600 career digs. Melville leads the conference in both kills per set (5.47) and points per set (6.10).
Amber Olson recorded 76 assists over the road trip and is now only four away from reaching 3,800 career assists. She also leads the conference with 11.62 assists per set, 1.47 assists more than the player in second place.
Both starting middles, Abby Hansen and Claudia Dillon, show aggression and consistency up at the net, as they lead the conference in hitting percentage. Hansen is in first, with a .416 pct, and Dillon is not far behind in second, with a .409 pct.
Tulane has struggled this season, with a 8-21 overall record and a 3-15 conference play record. They are currently on a seven game losing streak, their last win against ECU in late October. The Green Wave was most recently swept by both SMU and Memphis this past weekend at home. Tulane is fourth in the AAC in kills with 1326, averaging 12.39 a set.
This will be the second matchup between the Knights and the Green Wave of the 2022 season. UCF swept Tulane in the first match in New Orleans in early October. The Knights have won 10 straight matches against the Green Wave and currently hold the all-time series record 18-8.
