14 Knights Named CRCA Scholar-Athletes

ORLANDO – 14 members of the UCF rowing team were named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) scholar-athletes for the 2022 season, tying a program high.

Georgia Coyne earned her third straight distinction while Annberlee Hothem, Aryann Johnson, Emily Puia and Lauren Roman earned their second consecutive scholar-athlete honor.

Nine Knights earned their first nod to the CRCA Scholar-Athlete squad. Lindsey Buckreis, Connery Cassidy, Tatum Cox, Anna Kayser-Gallego, Saskia Papsova, Martina Pischedda, Maura Shiner, Martyna Wasilewska and Charlotte Wiley all made their first appearance on the list.

The 2022 list of scholar-athletes matches that of the 2021 group, making it back-to-back years that UCF has had exactly 14 honorees. It is the fourth consecutive year with double-digit Knights earning scholar-athlete accolades. The 2021 list of honorees set a new program high, beating the then program best of 12 in 2019.

To be eligible for CRCA scholar-athlete accolades, each rower must be in at least her second year of eligibility and hold a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher through the fall semester for the 2020-21 season.
