UCF Softball to Host NCAA Selection Show Watch Party

ORLANDO – The 17th-ranked UCF softball team earned both regular season and tournament champions of the American Athletic Conference in 2022 and has secured an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.The Knights will host an NCAA Tournament Selection Show watch party at Island Wing Company, located across from campus, tonight (Sunday) at 7 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to join the Black and Gold for the watch party in a celebration of their campaign so far and to look forward to the upcoming NCAA Regionals.

The Knights finished first in The American regular season standings, going 16-2 in league play. Their final conference series of the season decided the regular season champion as UCF took two of the three against Wichita State to win its first title since 2015. Overall, the Knights have posted a 46-12 record and earned top 15 wins over fifth-ranked Virginia Tech, 11th-rated Texas, and 12-ranked Georgia.

Sunday's selection to the NCAA Tournament will mark the ninth time in program history that the Knights have gone dancing. Head coach Cindy Ball-Malone led UCF to its first NCAA Tournament since 2016 last season, finishing the year in the Tallahassee Regional Final.

This year's regionals will take place from May 20-22, with Super Regionals from May 26-29 and the Women's College World Series hosted in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, from June 2-8.
