BATON ROUGE, La. – The UCF track and field team turned in another solid weekend that included five podium finishes at the LSU Alumni Gold meet on Saturday.
Rayniah Jones ran a season best 12.96 to finish second in the 100-meter hurdles. She opened the day as the first leg of the 4x1 relay, joining Ciara Holback, Beyonce Defreitas and I'Asia Wilson for ran a season-best 43.84 to finish third.
Latasha Smith posted a pair of podium finishes, taking second in the 400-meter dash in 52.64. She followed that with a personal best 23.17 to finish third in the 200-meter dash.
Asherah Collins used a season-best 42-9.75/13.05m to finish second in the triple jump.
The Knights also saw several personal and season bests. Tamia Badal ran a personal best 13.62 to finish fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. Danielle Bess ran 53.32 to finish sixth in the 400-meter dash. Samieryah Bradwell ran a personal best 23.97 in the 200-meter dash.
Kaliah Jones cleared a personal best 5-7.75/1.72m to finish sixth in the high jump. A pair of Knights ran personal bests in the 100-meter dash. I'Asia Wilson ran 11.46 and Beyonce Defreitas ran 11.52.
UCF also had four Knights in the 800-meter run at the Virginia Challenge. Katie Pinnell ran a season-best 2:09.07 to finish fourth. Mariana Rodriguez ran 2:11.65; Cydni Turner ran 2:12.89 and Charlotte Crook ran 2:13.49.
UCF is back in action next weekend, heading to the UNF Invitational in Jacksonville.
