#18 UCF Sweeps #66 FAU

ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 18 UCF women's tennis team dominated to a 4-0 sweep over No. 66 FAU on Sunday, March 27, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
 
The Knights never dropped a set to get the sweep and extend to a five-match win streak.
 
UCF got right to it and clinched the doubles point quickly.
 
Sophia Biolay and Nandini Sharma led the way with a quick 6-0 decision over Greta Schieroni and Millie-Mae on court two.
 
Jaleesa Leslie and Noel Saidenova followed suit with a 6-1 win over Amber McGinnis and Carina Sommer on court three to clinch the double point.
 
No. 28 Evgeniya Levashova and Marie Mattle were also leading Katerina Filip and Martina Kudelova by a score of 4-2, but the match went unfinished.
 
In singles action, the Knights set the tone right away by taking all six first sets. On court three, Jaleesa Leslie led the way with a quick 6-2, 6-1 decision over Greta Schieroni.
 
In the next minute, Noel Saidenova topped Martina Kudelova also with a score of 6-2, 6-1, giving the Knights the 3-0 lead.
 
UCF only needed one more court for the win and Nandini Sharma was able to get it done on court six as she defeated Carina Sommer on court six, 6-2, 6-3, extending her win streak to eight straight and clinching the match for the Knights.
 
Three matches went unfinished as No. 96 Evgeniya Levashova was leading 6-4, 3-0 over Katerina Filip on court one while No. 100 Marie Mattel was battling Amber McGinnis, 6-1, 5-2 on court four and Sophia Biolay was up against Mille-Mae Matthews 6-3, 2-3.
 
UP NEXT
The Knights will close out the regular season on the road against conference opponents. UCF will first travel to Dallas, Texas to face SMU on Friday, April 8, before heading up to Tulsa, Oklahoma on Sunday, April 10, to take on Tulsa.
