ORLANDO – The UCF track and field team closed out the Knights Invite with three event titles on Saturday at the UCF Track Complex.
Rayniah Jones made her outdoor season debut with a pair of victories. She ran 13.08 to win the 100-meter hurdles and followed up with an 11.34 to capture the 100-meter dash title.
UCF took four of the top five spots in the 100-meter dash as I'Asia Wilson finished second in 11.72 and Danielle Bess finished third in 11.79. Ani Wells ran a personal best 11.83 to finish fifth.
The Knights also took five of the top 10 spots in the 100-meter hurdles. Selena Wright finished fourth in 13.76; Tamia Badal finished seventh in 13.88. Alicia Coleman finished eighth in 14.31 and Natalia Madison made her collegiate 100-meter hurdle debut finishing 10th in 14.59.
The 4x1 relay squad picked up a win in its season debut, taking the top spot in 44.48.
Four Knights finished in the top 10 of the 800-meter run, led by Charlotte Crook's second place finish in 2:08.60. Mariana Rodriguez ran a personal best 2:11.69 for third. Cydni Turner finished fifth in 2:12.61 and Jadae Barrett ran a personal best 2:16.30 to finish ninth.
The 4x4 relay of Latasha Smith, Kiah Williams, Beyonce Defreitas and Kai'lyn Kirkland finished second in 3:40.23.
Chloe Hill and Ashlyn Green both set personal bests in the hammer throw. Hill finished fourth with a mark of 192-0/58.53 while Green placed seventh with a mark of 171-10/52.37m.
A pair of Knights finished in the top five of the triple jump. Jasmine Scott-Kilgo took fourth with a distance of 40-7.75/12.39m and Asherah Collins finished fifth with a distance of 40-6/12.34m. Mackenzie Czurak ran her first collegiate 3000-meter run, finishing fifth in 11:24.30.
UCF is back in action on April 1 as the Knights head to Gainesville for the Florida Relays.
