Knights Set To Host Knights Invite

ORLANDO – The UCF track and field team is back in action this weekend, hosting the Knights Invite at the UCF Track Complex.
 
The two-day meet begins Friday morning with field events. The women's pole vault and discus begin the day at 11:00 a.m. Track action starts with the 400-meter hurdles at 6:00 p.m. The last race of the day will be the men's 5000-meter at 8:30 p.m.
 
Saturday's action kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with the women's hammer throw. Track events begin at 12:00 p.m. with the 4x100-meter relay. UCF will also recognize its senior class at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
 
Spectators will be able to attend the Knights Invite but must remain in the stands and will not be allowed on the track level.
 
UCF is coming off of an impressive opener at the Black and Gold Invitational. In addition to the 29 personal records set in the opening weekend, Valerie Lastra broke her own 3000-meter record, running a 9:58.73. Ciara Holback collected her first American Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week on March 22 after a strong start to the outdoor season. The Jacksonville native placed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.57 and ran a personal best 11.40 in the 100-meter dash to finish third at the Black and Gold Invitational.
