Knights Handle Harvard, 4-1

ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 24 UCF women's tennis team handled No. 75 Harvard on Friday, March 18, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
 
After sweeping BYU yesterday, the Knights kicked things off strong after dominating doubles to clinch the doubles point.
 
No. 57 Evgeniya Levashova and Marie Mattel were unstoppable against Iveta Daujotaite and Angel You, earing a quick 6-1 decision on court one.
 
Court two showed their strength as Sophia Biolay and Nandini Sharma topped Annika Bassey and Maxi Duncan by a score of 6-2 to clinch the doubles point.
 
Noel Saidenova and Jaleesa Leslie were also up 5-3 over Kayla Leschly and Rachel Lim on court three but the match went unfinished.
 
UCF continued this trend in singles.
 
Despite retiring court three, to give Harvard a point, the Knights took total control of the next three courts.
 
Nandini Sharma keeps shining on court six as she earned a 6-3, 6-1 win over Rachel Lim. Sharma is now on a five-match win streak.
 
Not far behind was Sophia Biolay on court five as she took down Sany Gawande by a score of 6-3, 6-1 and the Knights led 3-1.
 
Three courts remained but it was yet again Marie Mattel on court four who clinched the match for the Knights. Mattel defeated Rachel Eason 6-1, 7-5 to give UCF the 4-1 win.
 
On court one, No. 68 Evgeniya Levashova was facing Sophia Ho but the match went unfinished at 3-6, 2-5, and on court two Noel Saidenova was making a comeback against Maxi Duncan but ended short at 4-6, 5-4.
 
UP NEXT
The Knights will round out the weekend, facing No. 9 Oklahoma State on Sunday, March 20, at home in Orlando, Florida at the USTA National Campus.
