Men’s Golf Beats Texas A&M, Trio of AAC Teams en Route to Top Five Tournament Finish

ORLANDO – Led by a top-three finish from Johnny Travale, the Knights finished out strong at the Coral Creek Club Invitational in Placida, Florida on Tuesday, finishing play with a three-round total of 863(+11).

The solid all-around performance placed UCF at fifth place overall to wrap up play, ahead of No. 18 Texas A&M as well as a trio of American Athletic Conference foes in Memphis, Cincinnati and South Florida.
 
Host school FGCU won the event with an 838(-14) total on their home course while South Alabama's Mathias Lorentzen led all golfers with an 8-under 205. Full results from the Coral Creek Club Invitational can be found on golfstat.com here.

Travale was consistent all tournament for the Knights, posting back-to-back rounds at 2-under 69 on Monday before wrapping up with a 1-under 70 in round three. His 208(-5) total placed him tied for third place, three strokes back from first.

UCF freshman Jonah Leach was also outstanding in the Knights' second event of the spring. The Windermere, Florida native was 1-over 72 in round three on Tuesday, solidifying a 214(+1) overall score and tying him for 21st overall.

Sophomore Egor Eroshenko tied for 37th after shooting 74(+3) in round three. He finished with a 218(+5). total at the Coral Creek Club Invitational.

Meanwhile, senior Luis Carrera shot 2-over 73 in the final round of action to sit tied for 62nd place with a 224(+11) score, while senior Clement Charmasson shot 77(+6) on Tuesday to finish with a 232(+19) total, good for 81st place.
 
Playing as an individual, UCF senior Markus Braadlie finished tied for 84th place with a final score of 239(+26).

The Knights will enjoy a week off before heading up to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the General Hackler Championship, taking place from March 13-14.
