Knights Add San Diego Transfer Emily Wilson

ORLANDO, Fla. – The UCF volleyball team is adding another member to the 2022 squad as the team announced the addition of transfer Emily Wilson on Monday.

Wilson, who is a six-three outside hitter from Estero, Florida, comes to UCF from the University of San Diego, where she spent her freshman (2021) campaign playing for the Toreros.

"Emily Wilson comes from one of the top college programs in the country and one of the top club programs in the country," head coach Todd Dagenais said, "She knows what it means to train, train with purpose, and train hard.

"She only knows one speed and that's work and she's going to come in right away and battle for a position on the floor. And fortunately, she can play both left side and right side.

"Emily's experience, her temperament, what she does inside the locker room and by how she leads by example when it comes to work has already had an impact on the team."

As a freshman at San Diego in 2021, Wilson was named to the All-West Coast Conference Freshman Team. She appeared in 19 of the Toreros' matches with five starts. Wilson ranked fifth on the USD roster with 65 kills (1.41 kills per set). She added 12 blocks, including two solo, and 32 digs. Wilson turned in a career-high performance against No. 16 UCLA on September 9 as she totaled 14 kills alongside seven digs.

"I chose UCF because of the family environment, great leadership, and the desire to win," Emily Wilson said.

Wilson is the third new addition to the team, joining incoming freshmen Emma Truluck (OH/DS/Ocala, Florida) and Abby Schomers (Setter/Omaha, Nebraska).
