Knights Have Strong Saturday at Charlie Thomas Invitational

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The UCF track and field team accumulated 17 top 10 finishes and captured the 60-meter dash title on the second day of the Charlie Thomas Invitational.
 
Rayniah Jones, who posted the top mark in the prelims, blazed to the 60-meter dash title, running a personal best 7.23 to take home the top honor. She moved into third on UCF's top 10 indoor performers list in the 60m.
 
Jones was joined in the finals by I'Asia Wilson, whose personal best 7.42 secured the third spot in the 60m.
 
Three Knights finished in the top 10 of the 400-meter dash. Latasha Smith placed fourth in 53.77; Kiah Williams finished sixth in 54.53 and Danielle Bess ran a personal best 54.73 to finish eighth and moved into sixth on UCF's top 10 indoor performers list.
 
Jasmine Scott-Kilgo picked up a fourth-place finish in the long jump, landing at 18-10.75/5.76m. Asherah Collins and Kiara Lee each turned in top 10 finishes in the triple jump. Collins finished fifth at 41-1/12.52m while Lee finished seventh at 38-8.75/11.80m.
 
Charlotte Crook ran a personal best 2:09.02 to finish sixth in the 800-meter run. Her mark moved her up to third on UCF's top 10 indoor performers list. Katie Pinnell ran a season-best 2:11.73 to join Crook in the top 10.
 
Lillian Holtery ran a personal best 4:56.75 to finish ninth in the mile. Her mark puts her fourth on UCF's top 10 indoor performers list. Mariana Rodriguez ran a personal best 4:57.99 to finish 13th and move into sixth on UCF's top 10 indoor performers list.
 
Kaylor Harris and Selena Wright both advanced to the final in the 60-meter hurdles. Harris posted a third-place finish in 8.36 while Wright finished eighth in 8.71. Kaliah Jones tied for seventh in the high jump, clearing 5-3/1.60m.  Chloe Hill finished ninth in the weight throw with a mark of 56-2/17.12m.
 
The Knights wrapped the Charlie Thomas Invitational with a pair of top 10 finishes in the 4x4. The squad of Kiah Williams, Danielle Bess, Samieryah Bradwell and Latasha Smith ran a season-best 3:38.18 for fourth place. The relay of Selena Wright, Beyonce Defreitas, Kai'lyn Kirkland and Tamia Badal ran 3:48.32 for ninth.
 
UCF continues indoor action on Feb. 11, returning to Clemson for the Tiger Paw Invitational.
