Claudia Dillon: Inside WNTOP

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Claudia Dillon, Amber Olson, McKenna Melville and TJ Read are representing UCF at the 2022 USA Volleyball National Team's Open Program, taking place from February 25-27 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The Women's National Team Open Program (WNTOP), formerly known as the Open Tryout, is a part of the selection process for the U.S Women's National Team, NCAA Elite Athlete List, and 2022 Collegiate National Team.

Led by U.S. Women's Head Coach Karch Kiraly, the Women's National Team staff and volleyball coaches from around the country, athletes will participate in skill-specific activities and match play throughout the Open Program.

For the next few days, follow along as junior Claudia Dillon gives a daily rundown and updates of their time at the WNTOP:

Day Three
Sunday, February 27

McKenna was among the few selected to train with Karch Kiraly and his assistants for the last day of camp! Woot Woot! We are so proud of her.

Amber and I played in our own waves with the rest of the athletes in a tournament style play for the last day. Our bodies were starting to feel all the training we have been doing these past couple of days.

We showered and ate lunch before heading to the airport to go home.

Overall, we all had a very fun, educational, and successful weekend in Colorado Springs!

Proud to represent UCF at the USA tryouts and play among some of the best athletes in the country!

Day Two
Saturday, February 26

Today, we had two volleyball sessions and a Q&A with Jordan Thompson. We also squeezed in a nap time!

Day One
Friday, February 25

We woke up early since we are still on Florida time and went to breakfast. We then took a walk around the training campus and did some homework.

We took a walk with TJ and I'm enjoying being back in my home state!

After lunch, McKenna did media while Amber and I went to our first session! I'd say it went well. Amber was blocking well and I had a good hitting day. Afterwards, McKenna went to her session and brought her big dog energy.

We all met some really awesome people during play and the three of us decided to keep "volleyjoy" alive and well during camp!

We had an all-camp meeting before dinner and then we walked across the street to get ice cream!

Now, we are relaxing for the night before another round tomorrow!
