Piddon Pushes Knights to Third, Ties UCF Record

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The UCF women's golf team continued its strong start in the Moon Golf Invitational Monday afternoon in Melbourne, Florida as junior Tunrada Piddon tied the program record for the lowest round and the Knights climbed up to third place overall after shooting 286(-2). UCF's two-day total is 578(+2) entering the final round.
 
With a 7-under 65 score in round two, Piddon tied the UCF record for lowest single-round total. She shot 3-under 33 on the front nine before following it up with an even stronger back nine, where she shot par or better on every hole to post a 32(-4). At the end of day two, Piddon sits in second place with a 137(-7) total.
 
At third place, the Knights lead some of the nation's top programs in No. 6 Arkansas (590, +14), No. 7 Florida (581, +5), No. 9 Alabama (583, +7), No. 17 Auburn (582, +6), No. 15 Baylor (589, +13) and No. 19 Duke (594, +18), just to name a few.
 
UCF sophomore Camille Banzet and senior Alyssa Lamoureux both turned in 2-over 74 rounds on Monday to sit tied for 19th and 28th, respectively. Banzet is at 146(+2) and Lamoureux owns a combined score of 147(+3).
 
Rounding things out, first-year Knight Zoe Allaux shot 1-over 73 to sit tied for 34th with a 148(+4) score, and sophomore Jess Baker turned in a 2-over 74 round two total and is tied for 70th with a 155(+11).

The Knights will be back at it for the final round Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m.
