ATHENS, Ga. – The UCF women's tennis closed out play at the Georgia Invitational in Athens, Georgia.
In the final round of singles for the weekend, the Knights earned three wins.
Marie Mattel picked up a big win over the No. 9 Freshman/Newcomer from Princeton, Victoria Hu. Mattel got the win with a quick 6-1, 6-3 decision.
Nandini Sharma also grabbed a quick decision win over Nathalie Rodilosso from Princeton in 6-0, 6-0.
The third Knights' win came from Anique Kattenberg as she defeated Alee Clayton from Georgia in a comeback win. After dropping the first set, 1-6, Kattenberg fought back to take the second in 6-3 to force the third set. She then secured the match win with a score of 6-2 in the third.
A pair of Knights did not go down without a fight as they both fell in three sets.
No. 20 Valeriya Zeleva had tough competition as she took on No. 66 Morgan Coppoc from Georgia. It took all three sets, but Zeleva fell by scores of 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.
Jaleesa Leslie faced Neha Velaga from Princeton. Leslie dropped the first set, 3-6, but battled hard in the second to get the edge in 7-6(4) before falling 6-2 in the third.

After a busy few weeks, the Knights will get some rest before ITA National on November 4-7 in San Diego, California.
