ORLANDO – The American Athletic Conference released its schedule for the 2021-22 men's basketball season on Thursday, completing the Knights' schedule for the upcoming campaign after their non-conference portion was announced in August.

The Knights, who are returning 97 percent of their points scored and 96 percent of their minutes played from the 2020-21 season, will face eight of 10 AAC teams twice during the regular season – once at home and once on the road. The Knights will play SMU only in Dallas, while UCF and Cincinnati are set to face off only at Addition Financial Arena.
Defending league champion and NCAA Tournament Final Four team from a year ago Houston leads the crop of programs set to take on UCF twice during the 2021-22 season, which also includes in-state rival South Florida, Memphis, ECU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa and Wichita State.
UCF will open conference play on the road on Dec. 15 as the Knights will take a pause from their challenging non-conference slate to take on the Temple Owls in Philadelphia.
The Knights, who went 8-10 in league play a season ago, will then have to wait over two weeks until they face their next AAC opponent as the second conference matchup is set for Jan. 2 at SMU. Other road opponents throughout the month of January include South Florida (Jan. 15), ECU (Jan. 18) and Wichita State (Jan. 26). Meanwhile, the Knights will welcome the following programs to Addition Financial Arena in January: Temple (Jan. 5), Tulsa (Jan. 8), Memphis (Jan. 12), Tulane (Jan. 22) and Houston (Jan. 29).
In February, UCF will host South Florida (Feb. 3), Wichita State (Feb. 8), ECU (Feb. 20) and Cincinnati (Feb. 23), and go on the road to take on Memphis (Feb. 5) and Houston (Feb. 17).
The Knights will close out the regular season with back-to-back road contests at Tulane (March 3) and Tulsa (March 6) before setting their eyes on the American Athletic Conference Championship, taking place from March 10-13.
The conference tournament will return to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas for the second straight year in 2022 as both the women's and men's tournaments will run in conjunction.
