Knights Collect Seven Conference Honors

ORLANDO, Fla. – The UCF men's tennis team saw four Knights make the American Athletic Conference All-Conference Team, as well as earning Player of the Year and Coach of the Year Awards.

Gabriel Decamps was named as the conference's Player of the Year after a phenomenal run at the top spot in the lineup for UCF, including a streak of 13 straight wins during the season. Decamps is the first Knight to win a Player of the Year honor since Catalin Bradu did it in 2003. Wichita State's Murkel Dellien was also named co-Player of the Year as well.

John Roddick was named as The American's Coach of the Year as he led the Black and Gold to their title as a member of the conference and a top 10 ranking, also a first for the program. The Knights take a 21-3 record into the NCAA tournament, including an active 13-match winning streak and 12 wins against nationally ranked opponents. Roddick earns American Coach of the Year honors for the first time and was a four-time Big 12 Coach of the Year and the 2014 ITA National Coach of the Year at Oklahoma before joining the Knights in 2016. Roddick joins Bobby Cashman as UCF's only other Coach of the Year, earning the nod in 2003 and 2005.

The All-Conference Singles and Doubles teams include those players ranked in the top 125 in singles and tandems ranked in the top 60 in doubles in the Oracle/ITA ranking. Decamps and Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi earned spots on the singles team, making two career nods for Decamps and the first of Grassi Mazzuchi's career. Decamps, Trey Hilderbrand and Bogdan Pavel were ranked in doubles, putting Pavel and Hilderbrand on an All-Conference team for the second time in their career as well.
