Piddon and Collado Lead Knights at NCAA Regional

Orlando, Fla. -  After the first round of the NCAA Louisville Regional, the UCF women's golf team is tied for 8th after shooting 299 (+11) as a team. Senior Ana Laura Collado and sophomore Tunrada Piddon led the Knights, each shooting one-over par rounds on Monday.

"Not having a chance to play a full practice round was difficult. I think we learned a lot today and will make some adjustments on the course tomorrow," said head coach Emily Marron after the day one of the championship. "We need to go out and play hard tomorrow and give ourselves a chance in the final round."

Freshman Camille Banzet carded a 76 (+4) on the first day of the tournament and sits T43 on the 96-player leaderboard. Alyssa Lamureux was the next best finisher for UCF, shooting 77 (+5), while Chinatsu Kobayashi was close behind with a 78 (+6) after the first round.

The Knights collected 11 birdies and 55 pars on Monday. The Black and Gold performed their best on par 5s, averaging 5.10 strokes per par five to finish the day two over.
