UCF Heads to Hurricane Alumni Invitational

ORLANDO – The UCF track and field team heads south for the two-day Hurricane Alumni Invitational, which gets underway Friday in Cobb Stadium.
 
Friday action features four heptathlon events, beginning at 2 p.m. The Knights will also compete in a pair of field events on Friday – hammer throw and high jump.
 
Saturday action begins at 2 p.m. with the discus. The Knights open track action with the heptathlon 800-meter run at 2:50 p.m. before the 4x1 kicks off at 3 p.m.
 
UCF continued outdoor action last weekend at the South Florida Invitational. Two weeks after setting the UCF freshman record in the 100-meter hurdles, Rayniah Jones improved her own mark in the event, posting a winning time of 13.35. Two additional Knights picked up event titles in Tampa. Latasha Smith won the 400-meter dash in 55.12. Adrienne Adams posted a personal best 154-0/46.94m to take the discus title.
