PINEHURST, N.C. – The American Athletic Conference Championship wrapped play on Tuesday afternoon as the Knights finished in fourth place as a team. Tunrada Piddon finished the tournament T4 overall.
As a team, the Knights shot 302 (+14) in the final round to wrap up the event with an 897 (+33) total score.
"We are a little disappointed in our finish today. It takes all five players stepping up, and we just didn't get that. I am proud of Pat for her best finish of the Spring. We are excited for an opportunity to compete in the NCAA Regionals in a few weeks," concluded Head Coach Emily Marron after the final round.
Tunrada Piddon finished T4 overall, after carding back-to-back two-under par rounds to open the tournament, Piddon carded an even par third round to finish 220 (+4). Freshman, Camille Banzet finished the three-day event shooting 224 (+8) and finished T13 in her first conference tournament. Chinatsu Kobayashi recorded 76 (+4) to end the tournament with a 231 (+15) three-day score.
Tulsa captured the American Athletic Conference Championship carding a final-round score of 6-over-par 294 to finish with a three-round score of 888 (+24). Houston slid up two positions to claim the runner-up position, while East Carolina rounded out the top three.
