ORLANDO, Fla. – The American Athletic Conference Championship is up next for the UCF women's golf team, as they travel to Pinehurst, N.C. to compete at Pinehurst No. 6. The tournament will be held from Sunday, April 18 through Tuesday, April 20 on the par 72, 6,290-yard course. All 10 members of The American will play one 18-hole round each day in stroke play following the five-count-four scoring format.
The Knights will tee of the tournament between 8-8:32 a.m. as the No. 2 seed, paired with No. 1 Houston. The field will be re-paired for both day two and day three based on subsequent scoring.
UCF is coming off of their first tournament victory of the year, earning the Brickyard Invitational title their last time out. The Knights shot 892 (+28) as a team to lead to field by 18 strokes.
The Black and Gold enters their final schedule event ranked No. 31 in the latest Golfstat.com polls, second in The American. Houston (20), Tulsa (56), USF (68), East Carolina (71) and SMU (92) are also ranked in the team top 100.
Knights Lineup
- Tunrada Piddon – Has led four of five tournaments for the Knights this spring, with her best score coming as a 215 (-1) at the Moon Golf Invitational.
- Ana Laura Collado – The Xalapa, Mexico native carded her best three-round score at the Brickyard Invitational with a 220 (+4) to place T3.
- Alyssa Lamoureux – Shot a two-under round on the first day of the Moon Golf Invitational, which stands as her best round of the 2021 campaign.
- Camille Banzet – Finished the three-round Brickyard Invitational with a 224 (+8) to earn her first top-10 finish at T7.
- Chinatsu Kobayashi – Competed as an individual at the Brickyard Invitational to earn a top five finish with a 223 (+7) performance over the three day tournament.
