ORLANDO – A pair of Knights earned their highest individual rankings as the UCF women's tennis team checked in at No. 18 in the April 14 edition of the Oracle/ITA team rankings.
Riding a nine-match win streak, Valeriya Zeleva not only earned her highest ranking as an individual, she also earned the highest individual ranking in program history. Zeleva moved up three spots to No. 22 in this week's edition of the singles rankings. She holds a 9-2 record this season and has five wins in seven tries against ranked opposition.
Team captain Rebeka Stolmar jumped 10 spots to land at No. 28 for her best ranking as an individual. She has compiled a 9-5 record in singles and has seen time at the top three spots in the lineup.
Evgeniya Levashova joins her teammates in the singles rankings, coming in at No. 110. She's also seen time at the top three singles positions while collecting a 7-4 record along the way.
In doubles, Stolmar and Marie Mattel slipped to No. 44 in the latest doubles rankings. The tandem climbed as high as No. 6 this season and are 5-6 on the year.
The ITA released two sets of team rankings this week, a computer version and a coaches poll edition. The Knights are No. 18 in both sets of rankings this week.
UCF has climbed as high as No. 16 this season and look to beat its program-best ranking of No. 12 which was achieved early in the 2020 campaign.
The Tennis Channel/USTA College Tennis Top 25 has UCF at No. 14 this week.
The Black and Gold take their final road trip of the regular season as they visit No. 4 FSU on April 16 and conclude the season on April 19 at home against No. 48 Tulsa.
