Softball Clinches Series Over Houston

ORLANDO – The Knights continued their hot start to conference play on Saturday with their third win over Houston after taking down the Cougars 4-1 at the UCF Softball Complex in Orlando, Fla.
After falling behind to Houston in the third, UCF third baseman Jada Cody hit a line drive two-run home run to give the Knights the 2-1 lead in the fourth. Cody finished the day 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored. She is 7-for-13 (.540) with two home runs over her last four games.
Two more runs for the Knights in the inning would put them up 4-1, and UCF starting pitcher Alea White would take care of the rest.
White was strong in the circle for UCF as the fifth-year senior tossed a complete game, allowing just one run on only four hits. She also struck out five batters along the way to move to 12-1 on the season.
With the win, UCF starts off clinched the series over Houston. The Knights remain undefeated in conference play with a 3-0 record.
The two sides will do battle once more on Sunday as they are set to square off at noon.
