RALEIGH, N.C. – The No. 18 UCF women's tennis team fell to No. 8 NC State in their ITA Kickoff Weekend finale by a score of 4-0.

The Wolfpack struck first in doubles as No. 2 Anna Rogers and Alana Smith beat No. 6 Rebeka Stolmar and Marie Mattel 6-1 on court one. The remaining two doubles matches were close, but it was No. 16 Adriana Reami and Jaeda Daniel who secured the doubles point by defeating Sara Culbertson and Ksenia Kuznetsova by a count of 6-4 on court two. Valeriya Zeleva and Marion Deloziere were leading Amelia Rajecki and Lana Mavor 5-3 on court three, but their match went unfinished.

Despite close matches all around, NC State took the first four singles sets that were being played, due to the nature of their indoor venue, which only houses four courts.

NC State collected the first singles point of the day as No. 23 Smith topped No. 42 Stolmar 6-4, 6-1 at the second spot in the lineup.

Jaleesa Leslie put up a fight against No. 38 Reami at the No. 4 singles position but wound up falling 6-3, 6-3 to give NC State a 3-0 lead.

The final court taken by the Wolfpack was court one, where No. 35 Rogers and No. 67 Zeleva battled for three sets. Rogers wound up taking the 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 victory in a back-and-forth match.

Courts three, five and six went unfinished. No. 72 Mattel and Daniel participated in a close match that saw Daniel take an intense first set by a count of 7-6 (11-9). The second set was tied 5-5 at the match's conclusion. Courts five and six had identical scores, with NC State's players leading 6-1, 3-0.
