UCF Inks Nation's #2 Recruit in JC Roddick

ORLANDO, Fla. – The UCF men's tennis team has signed blue-chip recruit JC Roddick to their 2021-22 roster. He is the No. 2 ranked recruit in the country.

"We're really excited to bring JC in," said Director of Tennis John Roddick. "As one of the top recruits in the nation, we know he'll have a major impact on our program."

Roddick has found an overwhelming amount of success against opponents of similar stature this year. He has posted an incredible 47-10 mark during the 2019-20 season, collecting a 12-6 mark against blue-chip recruits and a perfect 9-0 record against five-star recruits. He is the No. 1 recruit in the state of Texas.

Roddick is the first blue-chip recruit the Knights have landed since they inked Trey Hilderbrand for the 2018-19 season. Hilderbrand has put on an amazing display since then, climbing as high as No. 3 in the doubles rankings with partner Bogdan Pavel. Recently, Hilderbrand took home the singles title at the ITA National Fall Championships, a tough honor to achieve. Just as Roddick, Hilderbrand hails from San Antonio, Texas.

Roddick will join the Knights in the fall of 2021. JC is the nephew of John Roddick as well as international tennis superstar Andy Roddick.
