ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando Pride announced that the club has signed UCF alumna Carrie Lawrence and Zandy Soree to short-term contracts to join the team for the duration of the NWSL Fall Series.
Lawrence rejoins the Pride after she was initially waived ahead of the NWSL Challenge Cup. She previously signed to the team in January 2020 but did not make an appearance. While at UCF, she was a three-year letterwinner from 2016-18, making 49 appearances, scoring four goals and adding 11 assists. In her final campaign with the Knights, Lawrence was named to the United Soccer Coaches Association Third Team All-Region and American Athletic Conference Second Team All-Conference.
Zandy Soree joins the Pride after spending four years with the Knights from 2016-19. In that span, she totaled 67 appearances with 55 starts, netting 14 goals with 11 assists. Soree was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Rookie team after her freshman campaign and was most recently featured on the American Athletic Conference Second Team All-Conference.
On the international stage, Soree has appeared for the Belgian U-17, U-19 and senior national teams, with three caps for the senior side, the first of which came in 2019.
The two UCF alumna will join former teammate Konya Plummer after the Jamaican international was drafted No. 10 overall by the Pride at the 2020 NWSL College Draft.
