ORLANDO – The UCF football team is preparing for its 2020 season opener this weekend, but 13 #BuiltByUCF Knights saw action in the NFL's first week of competition this past weekend, including Jordan Akins who scored his first touchdown of the season on Thursday night.
Akins caught two passes for 39 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown from Deshaun Watson, as his Texans fell to the Chiefs on Thursday Night Football. It was Akins' third-career touchdown and the 16th start of his career.

One of two Knight-against-Knight games of the weekend featured a pair of former UCF receivers as Breshad Perriman and his new team, the New York Jets, took on rookie Gabriel Davis and the Buffalo Bills. Perriman grabbed three balls for 17 yards, while Davis had two snags for 16 yards in his pro debut.
Davis and second-year defensive lineman Trysten Hill made their first career starts this weekend. Hill made four tackles for the Cowboys on Sunday after appearing in just seven games as a rookie in 2019.
