UCF Collects Personal Bests at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF track and field team opened the Tiger Paw Invitational with eight personal-best performances at the Clemson Indoor Track on Friday.
 
Kiara Lee continued her strong freshman campaign with a collegiate best in the long jump. The Madison, Wisc., native made her last jump her best one, landing at 16-11.25/5.16m.
 
Beyonce Defreitas gave UCF three Knights in the 60-meter dash semifinals. Her personal-best mark time of 7.53 sent her to next round with Ciara Holback and Shian Hyde.
 
A personal-best performance from Kaitlyn Soltis put two Knights in the top 20 of the mile. Soltis crossed the line in 5:03.94, just behind Victoria Jung's 5:03.92, and moved into ninth on UCF's all-time performers list.
 
A trio of Knights improved their personal bests in the 400-meter dash. Loren Gallmon led the way, posting a time of 56.06 in her first indoor 400 this season. Latasha Smith followed close behind with a personal best time of 56.08. Samieryah Bradwell also improved her mark to 56.42.
 
UCF returns to action in Clemson on Saturday, beginning with the high jump at 11 a.m.
