HOUSTON, Texas (UCFKnights.com) – The Knights (8-2-2, 3-1 AAC) are coming home from Texas with two victories after defeating Houston (3-9, 0-2 AAC) on Sunday afternoon. The UCF women's soccer team improves to 3-1 in The American and move up to second in the conference, behind only Memphis (12-1, 4-0 AAC).
With her first goal of the season, Mollie Rouse found the back of the net to open the scoring in the 42nd minute from a corner kick.
Both Zandy Soree and Kristen Scott added to their goal total with second half goals, each with a team-leading seven goals. Soree's goal came in the 74th minute, with an assist from the freshman Ellie Moreno, and Scott buried her goal in the 87th minute of the match with the help from Jessica Taylor.
Hosing Houston
- This was the third match in a row that saw the Knights score two or more goals. In the victory, Caroline DeLisle picked up her fifth clean sheet of the season.
- The Knights 11 shots on goal is the most for UCF to this point in the 2019 slate, and 19 shots is the third most shots of the season.
- Ellie Moreno's assist on Zandy Soree's goal was her second of the season.
