Virginia Beach, Va. (UCFKnights.com) – Coming off of a successful first month of the fall season, the UCF women's golf team travels to Virginia to compete in the Princess Anne Invitational, a three day, 54-hole tournament hosted by Old Dominion. The Princess Anne Invitational will be hosted at the Princess Anne Country Club, a 5,816-yard par 70 course.
Currently ranked No. 32 by Golfweek, UCF looks to defend their title at the Princess Anne Invitational as the Knights squad won the team title at the same event last fall, while Elizabeth Moon earned overall medalist.
The invitational will run from Friday, Oct. 4 to Sunday, Oct. 6, and includes ranked opponents in No. 38 LSU, No. 43 Virginia Tech and No. 46 ECU.
The Knights Lineup
- Tunrada Piddon – Looking to find continued success, Piddon earned her first medalist position last time out and picking up American Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Month honors.
- Elizabeth Moon – The sophomore will be looking to defend her overall medalist title after earning the top position at the same event a year ago.
- Chinatsu Kobayashi – Last time out at the Mason Rudolph Championship, Kobayashi finished with a score of 227(+11).
- Maria Balcazar – At the Mason Rudolph Championship, Balcazar shot 228(+12) for a T56 finish.
- Ana Laura Collado – At the Cougar Classic, Collado improved across the multi-day tournament, shooting 86(+14) in the first round and finished the tournament with a 70(-2) in the final round.
Individual – Alyssa Lamoureux – Lamoureux made her fall debut last time out, shooting 227(+11).
"We are really excited to get back to the Princess Anne Country Club, as we had a lot of success there last year. The course is a traditional "old school" style of track with narrow fairways and small greens," said head coach Emily Marron of the upcoming event. "We have a lot of good memories from last year with both our team and Moon winning this event and are going to use that to our advantage. The field is stronger this year and we are looking forward to another opportunity to test ourselves against some top teams."
