Knights Set for Bedford Cup

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men's tennis team is scheduled to participate in the Bedford Cup in Tallahassee, Fla. as they'll compete from Oct. 11-13. This will be their fourth tournament of the season.

UCF found success in the Bedford Cup in the 2018 fall season with Alan Rubio winning the main flight single title. This season, Mikhail Sokolovskiy, Manoel Alencar and Saitejas Mopuri will be playing in the singles portion of the tournament.

Sokolovskiy had a great spring season, finishing with the third best single season win total. His 2019 season ended with him winning his last seven matches. Alencar picked up his first collegiate dual match victory against No. 4 Virginia's Woodall in a 6-4, 6-1, to tie the match at 1-1. He went 3-9 last fall and looks to make strides in his sophomore season. Mopuri looks to improve from last fall where he posted a 1-2 mark.
