Tunrada Piddon Medals at Mason Rudolph Championship

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UCFKnights.com) – In the Knights second tournament of the fall, freshman Tunrada Piddon put together an impressive three rounds to claim an overall first place finish at the Mason Rudolph Championship. Piddon put together three rounds under par, shooting 70 (-2), 71 (-1), and 69(-3), which put her two strokes ahead of the nearest opponent.

"What a huge win for Pat!" Said Head Coach Emily Marron on Piddon's first collegiate victory. "To win in her second collegiate event is so impressive. She showed the poise and confidence of an elite player and really had a strong back nine to close the round. I think this is the first of many wins to come for her."

As a team, the UCF women's golf team shot 879 (+15) across the three rounds in Nashville, putting them in eighth out of a field of 15. Following the first two rounds of the competition, the Black and Gold were shooting 591(+15). In the final round, the Knights matched their first round score of 288 (E) and gained one position overall.

Elizabeth Moon, Chinatsu Kobayashi, and Alyssa Lamoureux each shot a 73 (+1) in the final round of the tournament, good enough to finish T14, T51, and T51, respectively. Maria Balcazar had a third round score of 77(+5) and finished T56 out of the field of 81.

Coach Emily Marron added, "We stumbled in the second round, but our first and last rounds were some great golf! The fire power is there with this team, and I really feel we can win any tournament we go to. It's just a matter of putting together three solid rounds at the same time – and this team is definitely capable of that!"
