ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women’s soccer team completed its final preseason exhibition match Sunday morning when they hosted North Texas at the UCF Soccer Complex.
The Knights saw the first lead in the match at the 23rd minute when forward Mallory Olsson put a header passed the North Texas keeper with help from a cross played in by Ally Gudorf on the right side. Before the end of the first half, North Texas found an equalizer to put the score at one apiece at the half.
The final 15 minutes of play saw four total goals. In the 76th minute, North Texas found the back of the net and its first lead of the game. Cydni Turner picked up a goal to bring the game even at two, but three minutes later North Texas reclaimed the lead in the 87th minute.
With 49 seconds left in the match, Darya Rajaee found the equalizer as she rocketed a goal from outside the 18-yard box with the assist coming from Mollie Rouse.
A Team Effort
- 18 Knights saw action in the exhibition match
- Three members of the Black and Gold played the full 90 minutes – Caroline DeLisle, Olivia Smith, and Konya Plummer
- Seven Knights took a shot in the contest and all three goals came from different players
- The Knights outshot North Texas 14 – 8, with 10 shots on goal coming from UCF

The Knights will open the 2019 regular season as it plays host to a pair of Big Ten teams in Wisconsin (Aug. 22) and Ohio State (Aug. 28) at the UCF Soccer Complex.
