ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After a thrilling 11th-inning walk-off single on Senior Knight to cap the regular season, the UCF baseball team will turn its focus to the American Athletic Conference Championship this week at Spectrum Field in Clearwater. The No. 6 seed Knights will open the league tournament on Tuesday night

Marc Daniels will have the call on FM96.9/AM740 The Game all week long. The American Digital Network will have the streams for every game before Sunday. ESPNews will televise the championship on Sunday.

The Knights closed the regular season winning 11 of their final 14 games, including the final three conference series. During that stretch, the Knights hit 16 home runs, led by six from Dallas Beaver. The Black and Gold had three extra-inning wins and won nine games by three runs or fewer. Matthew Mika paced UCF on the base paths with a 9-for-11 mark on stolen bases.

A QUICK RECAP 
* Dalton Wingo tied the single-game record with three home runs as the Knights outlasted FAU 13-10 on the road.
* UCF blanked Houston in the series opener for the Knights’ fifth shutout of the year.
* Houston managed to bounce back with a 2-0 win, despite six shutout innings from Jordan Spicer.
* In a back-and-forth affair, the Knights walked it off in the series finale in the bottom of the 11th on Brandon Hernandez’s bases loaded single.

• The eight scoreless innings was the second longest shutout performance of his career, topped only by a complete game shutout against Gardner-Webb on March 17, 2015, during his freshman year at Furman.
• Recorded his seventh quality start of the year, a team best.
• Retired the side in order four times and induced a pair of double plays.

HITTER OF THE WEEK

• Recorded a pair of multi-hit games, including first career four-hit outing in the regular season finale.
• Notched two three-RBI games.
• Took the team lead in home runs with 11 this season.

TEAM NOTES 
• The Knights improved to 5-1 in walk-offs this year and 4-1 in extra-inning games.
• UCF pitchers stranded 46 runners on base over the week.
• The Black and Gold is 5-9 at the American Athletic Conference Championship.
Dallas Beaver hit .444 with runners in scoring position last week to lead the team clip of .264.
• The Knights held Houston scoreless for the first 15 innings of the series.
Garrett Westberg took over the bullpen lead with 54 strikeouts this season.
Matthew Mika recorded his 85th career stolen base, pulling him within seven of second in program history.
• The bullpen now has a 10.1 strikeout per nine inning tally on the year.
• Mika has had the hot stick over the last 15 games with a clip of .400, while Beaver has driven 18 runs during that span.
• UCF outscored opponents 51-31 in the first inning of regular season games.
