PALM COAST, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women’s golf team began the first round of the American Athletic Conference Championship Sunday afternoon at Hammock Beach Resort on the Conservatory Course.
The Knights end the first day in second place after shooting 294(+6) with Elizabeth Moon tied for second place overall.
Moon started the day with four birdies on the front nine and ended the day with a 70(-2), while Maria Balcazar shot a 76(+4) for the day.
Alyssa Lamoureux capped off the first round with a 74(+2), while Ana Laura Collado was just behind Lamoureux with a 77(+5).
Chinatsu Kobayashi posted two birdies on the front nine and made the turn one-under par and finished with a 74(+2) on the day.
As a team, the Knights compiled seven birdies and 65 pars.
UCF ends the day only behind Houston as the two teams will be paired together again for the second round.
