ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF football team improved to 5-0 on Saturday with a 48-20 victory over visiting SMU. On Monday, the American Athletic Conference named Knights senior Titus Davis the league’s Defensive Player of the Week.
It marks the first career Player of the Week honor for Davis, who recorded a career high three tackles-for-loss in the win over the Mustangs. The defensive end added six total tackles, a sack, one quarterback hurry and a forced fumble.
On the season, Davis has totaled 20 tackles, 6.5 tackles-for-loss, two sacks and three hurries. He has already accumulated more tackles-for-loss and sacks than he had all of last season.
This is the fourth Player of the Week honor for the Knights this season, as McKenzie Milton has been named Offensive Player of the Week three times in 2018.
Junior running back Adrian Killins Jr. was also recognized for his performance this weekend, earning a spot on The American’s Weekly Honor Roll.
Killins rushed a career-high 20 times for 113 yards and a touchdown in the win over SMU. It marked the first 100-yard game on the ground for any Knight this season.
Davis, Killins and the No. 10/9 Knights hit the field again on Saturday when UCF plays at Memphis at 3:30 p.m. The game will air on ABC and ESPN2, as well as FM 96.9/AM 740 The Game.
