A.J. Davis to Begin Pro Career in Kosovo

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – A former star with the Knights, A.J. Davis is set to begin the next phase of his basketball career. Davis signed with Sigal Prishtina and will play this season for the most successful professional team in Kosovo.

Sigal Prishtina plays in the Kosovo Basketball Superleague, the Balkan International Basketball League, and the newly formed FIBA Europe Cup. The team has won 12 national championships, 13 national cups and three supercups in 13 years.

Davis signs with the team out of Kosovo after participating in the Portsmouth Invitational and competing in multiple workouts with NBA programs this summer.

A three-year starter for the Knights, Davis averaged 12.2 points and led UCF with 7.6 rebounds per game as a senior in 2017-18. The 6-foot-9 wing was named All-Conference Honorable Mention by The American following his final season in Black and Gold.

Davis was also a key member of the Knights’ 2016-17 squad that led the nation in field goal percentage defense. Known for defense himself, Davis helped guide UCF to a 24-12 overall record and a trip to the National Invitation Tournament semifinals.

He becomes the fourth UCF player to start a professional basketball career, following Nick Banyard, Tank Efianayi and Matt Williams off of the 2016-17 roster.
