ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the most outstanding center in NCAA Division I College Football. On Friday, the Rimington Trophy Committee announced its 2018 Fall Watch List, which included UCF's Jordan Johnson.

Johnson was named First Team All-Conference by The American after starting all 13 games at center during the Knights' 13-0 season last year.

The Jacksonville, Fla., native led the offensive line in protecting quarterback McKenzie Milton, allowing the sophomore to throw for school records of 4,037 yards and 37 touchdowns, while recording a record 179.29 passing efficiency.

Johnson and the o-line also created plenty of running space for Adrian Killins Jr. and other backs, who accumulated a combined 2,583 yards and 39 touchdowns on the ground.

The Rimington Trophy will be awarded to the center who has the most first team all-america votes from the Walter Camp Foundation, Sporting News and the Football Writers Association of America. If there is a tie, it will be the center with the most second place votes. The winner will be recognized on Jan. 12, 2019.

Dave Rimington, the award's namesake, was a consensus first team All-American center in 1981 and 1982, during which time he became the John Outland Trophy's only two-time winner as the nation's finest interior lineman.
