ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – As the summer leagues enter July, 14 Knights continue to thrive with various clubs across the country. Here's a look at how they fared over the last week.
 
Ray Alejo has been a regular starter for the Brewster Whitecaps in the Cape Cod League. The redshirt junior has hit in the leadoff spot in seven of his nine games this season.  Alejo went 7-for-22 last week with three RBI over seven outings.
 
Up in the Northwoods League, Dallas Beaver went on a six-game hitting streak for the Lakeshore Chinooks. The rising junior hit .321 during the streak with five RBI. Fellow Chinooks teammate Luis Ferrer made a pair of appearances last week, including his first win of the year. The Cape Coral, Fla., native tossed 3 2/3 shutout innings with five punchouts. The southpaw has a 1.12 ERA and 12 strikeouts over eight innings of work.
 
Through 23 games with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, Brody Wofford ranks eighth in the Northwoods with a .341 batting average and 20th with 18 RBI. The rising senior hit .382 in eight games last week, drilling four homers and driving in 14 runs.
 
Jeffrey Hakanson has been lights out on the mound for the Western Nebraska Pioneers. The northpaw tossed a pair of shutout innings last week and notched his first win of the summer to take his ERA down to 0.90. Hakanson has 23 punchouts in just 10 innings on the bump. He has allowed just five batters to reach base, three hits and two walks.
 
Chandler Robertson has had a strong start with the Winter Park Diamond Dawgs in the Florida League. The Canada international is hitting .400 through four games with his new club. Robertson went 3-for-5 with three RBI against the Sanford River Rats on June 27.
 
Brandon Hernandez picked up a hit in all five games for the Staunton Braves in the Valley League. The native of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., has a .333 clip at the dish this summer and five RBI, including a pair of homers.
 
Jaylyn Whitehead moved to 2-0 on the summer for the Cincinnati Steam in the Great Lakes League. The lefty went six innings against the St. Clair Green Giants on June 27, striking out eight and allowing just a pair of runs. Whitehead has a 3.14 ERA and 15 punches over 14 1/3 innings.

FLORIDA LEAGUE
• Anthony George (Seminole County Scorpions) – Recorded a hit in two games last week, which was shortened due to rain.
• Adams Torres (Winter Garden Squeeze) – Played in three games, launching a home run in a three-RBI outing against Seminole County on June 27. Hitting .278 with 10 RBI and three homers this summer.
 
VALLEY LEAGUE
• Dalton Wingo (Waynesboro Generals) – Cooled off a bit during six games last week with four hits and one RBI. Has a .302 batting average, two homers and six RBI over 18 games.
 
EXPEDITION LEAGUE
• Jack Sinclair (Western Nebraska Pioneers) – Improved to 2-0 on the year with a six-inning outing against the Hastings Sodbusters on June 28. The righty has a 4.33 ERA and 19 punchouts in 18 2/3 innings this summer.
 
WEST COAST LEAGUE
• Garrett Westberg (Port Angeles Lefties) – Earned second straight win on June 30 against the Cowlitz Black Bears. Went six innings with five punchouts and allowed two runs. Has a 3.27 ERA over five games with four starts.
 
GREAT LAKES LEAGUE
• Griffin Bernardo (Cincinnati Steam) – Picked up a hit in four games last week and added a quartet of RBI. Has a .323 clip at the plate this summer with 16 RBI.
